When using a service like Azure Redis Cache, you don't have to worry about it (Depending on the tier you select, for production the recommended tier is Standard and up wich will give you a setup with more than one instances/vm). But if you deploy redis in your premises you'd need a redis cluster for high availability and redundancy, having one node poses a mayor risk by having a single point of failure.
